At ByteForth, we're building the future of intelligent software. Our cloud infrastructure powers AI-driven applications, brutalist SaaS platforms, and automation workflows that serve clients globally. As our Cloud Engineer, you'll architect, deploy, and optimize the backbone that makes it all possible—scalable, secure, and lightning-fast cloud systems that handle everything from ML model deployment to real-time data pipelines.
This isn't a position where you'll maintain legacy systems or follow outdated playbooks. You'll work with cutting-edge cloud-native technologies, collaborate with top 1% engineering talent across Pakistan, and have the autonomy to make architectural decisions that impact thousands of users. Whether you're orchestrating Kubernetes clusters, automating infrastructure with Terraform, or optimizing cloud costs, your work will directly influence our ability to ship world-class products.
Role Overview
As a Cloud Engineer at ByteForth, you'll own the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP. You'll work closely with our AI engineering and backend teams to ensure our applications are highly available, performant, and cost-efficient. This is a fully remote role based in Pakistan, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating with a distributed team of exceptional engineers.
You'll be responsible for building infrastructure that scales—from containerized microservices to serverless functions, from CI/CD pipelines to monitoring and observability systems. If you love solving complex distributed systems challenges and thrive in an environment where your technical decisions matter, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- ▹Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform using Infrastructure as Code principles
- ▹Build and optimize Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration, ensuring high availability and efficient resource utilization
- ▹Implement robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD to enable rapid and reliable deployments
- ▹Develop automation workflows using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to provision and manage cloud resources
- ▹Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and implement proactive solutions to prevent downtime and ensure SLA compliance
- ▹Optimize cloud spending through right-sizing, reserved instances, spot instances, and architectural improvements
- ▹Collaborate with engineering teams to design cloud-native architectures that support AI model deployment, data pipelines, and SaaS applications
- ▹Implement security best practices including IAM policies, network segmentation, secrets management, and compliance monitoring
What We Look For
- ▹3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- ▹Strong proficiency with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, EKS, AKS, or GKE)
- ▹Expert knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
- ▹Solid understanding of networking concepts including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, DNS, CDN, and VPN configurations
- ▹Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with modern DevOps tooling
- ▹Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, or Go) for automation and tooling
- ▹Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, or CloudWatch
- ▹Excellent communication skills and ability to document architectural decisions and runbooks clearly
Nice-to-Haves
- ▹Experience deploying and managing machine learning models or AI workloads in production cloud environments
- ▹Knowledge of serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, or Google Cloud Functions
- ▹Familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd
- ▹Certification in cloud platforms (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, Google Cloud Professional Engineer)
- ▹Contributions to open-source DevOps or cloud infrastructure projects
What We Offer
- ▹Competitive annual compensation of PKR 3,000,000 to PKR 4,800,000, positioned at the top of the Pakistani market to attract exceptional talent
- ▹100% remote work flexibility within Pakistan—work from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, or anywhere with reliable internet
- ▹Zero bureaucracy culture—we trust you to own your work, make technical decisions, and ship without unnecessary approvals or meetings
- ▹Direct collaboration with world-class engineers solving challenging problems in AI, automation, and modern SaaS
- ▹Access to cutting-edge tools, technologies, and cloud resources—we invest in the best platforms so you can do your best work
- ▹Opportunities for professional growth, certifications, and skill development in emerging cloud technologies
