Role Overview

As a QA Engineer at ByteForth, you'll be responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of cutting-edge AI-powered applications and automation systems. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to build comprehensive testing strategies, automate quality assurance processes, and catch issues before they reach production.

You'll own the entire quality lifecycle—from test planning and execution to automation framework development and continuous integration. This role demands someone who can think like both a user and a developer, anticipating edge cases and advocating for quality at every stage of the development process.

Key Responsibilities

• ▹Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications, APIs, and automation workflows
• ▹Build and maintain automated testing frameworks using modern tools and methodologies to ensure fast, reliable CI/CD pipelines
• ▹Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing across multiple platforms and environments
• ▹Collaborate with cross-functional teams during sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives to integrate quality assurance into the development lifecycle
• ▹Identify, document, and track bugs and issues using modern project management tools; advocate for timely resolution with clear reproduction steps
• ▹Conduct API testing and validation using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar platforms to ensure backend reliability
• ▹Monitor application performance and conduct load testing to identify bottlenecks and optimize user experience
• ▹Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and best practices across the engineering organization

What We Look For

• ▹3 to 5 years of professional experience in software quality assurance and testing roles
• ▹Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing types (functional, regression, integration, performance), and software development lifecycles
• ▹Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar tools
• ▹Proficiency in at least one programming language (JavaScript, Python, Java) for writing and maintaining test scripts
• ▹Experience testing RESTful APIs and understanding of backend systems, databases, and web services
• ▹Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI
• ▹Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• ▹Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams

Nice-to-Haves

• ▹Experience testing AI/ML applications or working with AI-powered features
• ▹Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter, Gatling, or K6
• ▹Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• ▹Understanding of security testing principles and tools (OWASP, penetration testing basics)
• ▹Experience with behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber or SpecFlow
