Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer at ByteForth, you'll be a key technical contributor responsible for designing, building, and deploying robust software systems. You'll work across our AI engineering initiatives, SaaS platforms, and automation products—owning features from conception through production. This role demands not just coding expertise, but the ability to mentor others, architect scalable solutions, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
- ▹Design and develop high-performance backend systems, APIs, and microservices that power our AI and SaaS products
- ▹Architect scalable solutions handling significant data volumes and complex business logic with attention to performance, security, and maintainability
- ▹Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code following industry best practices and modern software engineering principles
- ▹Lead technical initiatives from planning through deployment, making critical architectural decisions and technical trade-offs
- ▹Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into elegant technical solutions
- ▹Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing sessions
- ▹Optimize application performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements across the stack
- ▹Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, ensuring system reliability and swift resolution of production issues
What We Look For
- ▹5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems at scale
- ▹Deep expertise in at least one modern backend language (Python, Node.js, Go, Java, or similar) with strong computer science fundamentals
- ▹Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, microservices architectures, and distributed systems
- ▹Solid understanding of database technologies (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling
- ▹Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and containerization
- ▹Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex issues across multiple layers of the stack
- ▹Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly
- ▹Self-motivated and productive in remote work environments with strong time management and organizational skills
Nice-to-Haves
- ▹Hands-on experience with AI/ML engineering, including working with LLMs, vector databases, or machine learning pipelines
- ▹Contributions to open-source projects or active technical writing/blogging demonstrating thought leadership
- ▹Experience building and scaling SaaS products from early stage through growth
- ▹Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, Vue) for full-stack contributions
- ▹Track record of technical leadership, whether through formal team lead roles or as a senior individual contributor
